The Parrotheads are returning to the Arrendale Amphitheater at Piedmont College on Friday, when Jeff Pike and A1A bring their Jimmy Buffett tribute show to Northeast Georgia for a romp in Margaritaville.
Back by popular demand, A1A pulls out all the stops for an energetic, family-friendly show featuring the music of the "son of a son of sailor" himself, Jimmy Buffett.
Named for Florida's most famous highway, A1A will also treat listeners to a variety of summertime hits from the Beach Boys, some classic reggae, as well as some original A1A Trop Rock music, all mixed together in one big Buffett-style Caribbean beach party.
Gates open at 7 p.m. and the concert starts at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 at the gate for all ages and free for Piedmont students, faculty and staff.
The Arrendale Amphitheater is located at 359 College Drive (off of Georgia Street) on the Piedmont campus.
A1A founder Jeff Pike of Atlanta has performed Jimmy Buffett hits since he and A1A won a Margaritaville Records sound-alike contest. A1A is the only band sanctioned by Jimmy Buffett.
In addition to the music, concessions will be available during the show. The Arrendale Amphitheater features open-air stadium seating with plenty of room to bring your favorite folding chair or cushions and cooler. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.
If you miss the band this weekend, they'll be in the Gainesville area Aug. 6.
