Artists from Gainesville and surrounding North Georgia communities such as Atlanta and the Southeast will have a change once again to shine at the annual Members’ Exhibition at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center in Gainesville.
Each year marks another season of unparalleled excellence in visual arts program and celebrates the artists who contribute to that level. It is also the most popular tradition in the history of the Quinlan since it showcases the work of member-artists.
The 68th annual Members’ Exhibition opening reception will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at 514 Green St. NE, Gainesville. Ribbons will be awarded for first, second and third place, best of show and as honorable mentions.
University of North Georgia’s director of art galleries, Beth Sale, will serve as juror. Sale earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The exhibition will be on display from Oct. 22 to Dec. 10 and feature an eclectic array of art in all media including landscapes, abstracts, still life compositions, portraits, ceramics and wood turnings.
