Showing off their leather interiors, chrome rims and classically curved bodies, antique cars and trucks roll into the spotlight this weekend.
The Northeast Georgia Antique Auto Region Inc. is sponsoring its 38th annual Car and Truck Show from Friday, Aug. 14, through Sunday, Aug. 16. The event will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Habersham County Fairgrounds, 4235 Toccoa Highway, in Clarkesville.
The show will kick off with a flea market, swap meet and arts and crafts for free Friday.
The cruise-in opens Saturday with a $4 admission for spectators. Children 12 and younger may enter for free.
Car show entrants must pay $10 per entry. Registration is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to noon Sunday. Judging will be from noon to 2:30 p.m. with awards announced at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
This year’s theme is the “Dukes of Hazzard,” and at least one member will display the original deputy sheriff’s car. Anyone with similar replica cars are encouraged to bring them.
Entertainment will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday with a variety of vendor selling food and other items.
