They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky. They’re all together ooky — The Addams Family.
And the Red Phoenix Theatre Company is bringing the same spooky family from television to the stage in a production of “The Addams Family.”
The Broadway musical features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. He is a man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother.
Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia.
Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s normal boyfriend and his parents.
“The Addams Family” will take the stage at 8 p.m. Oct. 30 and 3 and 8 p.m. Oct. 31. All three performances will be at the Brenau Downtown Center, 301 Main St. SW, in Gainesville.
Tickets are $15 to $18 depending on seat selection.
