Several venues from Atlanta to Helen will host various New Year’s Eve parties, ranging from ball drops and rooftop bashes to children-friendly celebrations with bubbles and dinner buffets.

For those looking to get out of the house on New Year’s Eve, locales in Northeast Georgia has no shortage of champagne toasts and dances on Dec. 31.

From kid-friendly countdowns to parties lasting into the wee hours of New Year’s Day, check out these events to ring in 2017.

 

Gainesville

Northeast Georgia Federation of Square Dancers
Caller-Cuer Rama Dance

Dance your way into 2017 with the Lakeshore Squares Square Dancing association. The annual Caller-Cuer Rama Dance will begin at 9 p.m. Dec. 31 at First Presbyterian Church, 800 S. Enota Drive, Gainesville. Advance tickets are $12.50 or $15 at the door. Guests are encouraged to wear square dance attire and bring a snack for the refreshment table.

The Venue

First Night and Gold Nugget Drop

Celebrate the new year while benefitting a good cause at Dahlonega’s First Night. From 6 p.m. to midnight Dec. 31, walk around the Dahlonega square listening to music from several bands and shopping at local stores. Sponsored by Interfaith Ministries, proceeds from the $10 tickets will support Jeremiah’s Place, which provides transitional housing for the homeless. The night will conclude with the annual Gold Nugget Drop on the square.

New Year’s Eve Dinner Buffet and Bash

The evening will end with a champagne toast and the dropping of the locally made Edelweiss. Tickets are $15 for adults, $25 per couple or $7.50 for children.

Roaring 20s New Year’s Eve

Peach Drop

The Atlanta Peach Drop will celebrate its last year at Atlanta Underground before the location is sold and redeveloped. Watch the 800-pound peach close out 2016 at 50 Upper Alabama St. No. 007 in Atlanta.

Ponce City Market Roaring Rooftop Bash

Take in the New Year from the Atlanta skyline on the rooftop of Ponce City Market, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave. NE, Atlanta.

This black tie event will run from 8 p.m. Dec. 31 to 1 a.m. Jan. 1. It includes unlimited champagne, chef-prepared food and performances from Imperial Opa circus. The party is for patrons 21 and older. Tickets are $200 per person.

Children’s Museum of Atlanta New Year’s Bubble Bash
