Travelers sweep Cobb Stars

The Gainesville Travelers swept a doubleheader against the Cobb Stars on Saturday at the Hog Mountain Sports Complex.

Flowery Branch High graduate Justin Pagano hit an RBI single in the seventh inning to give the Travelers (3-3) a 9-8 win in Game 1. Gainesville High graduate Justin Fordham picked up the win on the mound.

In Game 2, Brian Cash, who homered in Game 1, hit a three-run walk-off home run to give Gainesville a 7-4 win. North Hall High graduate Josh Wright earned the win in the second game.

Gainesville plays another doubleheader against the Augusta Nationals at 2 p.m. today at the J.H. Holland Youth Sports Complex in Athens.
