With a first-place finish in the girls competition and second-place spot in the boys, North Hall combined for its fifth-straight Hall County championship Saturday at the Frances Meadows Aquatics Center in Gainesville.
In the team standings, Cherokee Bluff took second, while Flowery Branch finished third.
Cherokee Bluff’s boys took first place overall, followed by the Trojans and Flowery Branch in a tie for second.
In the girls standings, Flowery Branch placed second and Cherokee Bluff was third.
Two event champions included Cherokee Bluff’s Dean Wall in the 50-and 100-yard freestyle, his third straight year winning both races.
North Hall’s Blake Bubniak won the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke.
From Flowery Branch, Jessica Dao won the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke, while Jayla Dao won the 50 free and 100 backstroke.
From Cherokee Bluff, Wall, Evan Young, Jeff Wall, Pace Nelson, Finley Toombs, Kyleigh Giles, Ava Williams and Abigail Lynch have all qualified for state.
Flowery Branch’s Reid Barnes, Sam Tole, Dawson Sherwood, Tyson Huynh, Ethan Lowe, Teddy Wille, Pete Tison, Samantha Walton, Aiden Jensen, Jessica Dao, Jayla Dao, Bella Jones and Saide Corbin have all earned a spot to state.
North Hall’s Bubniak, Jaycob Wagner, William Carey, Cates Greene, Kyle Fullerton, Sophia Johnson, Trista Warner, Bella Baker, Molly Loudin and Carly Holderfield are all state qualifiers.
The state championship meet for swimming kicks off Feb. 1 at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
