The regular season is over and only two Hall County teams move into the playoffs. Gainesville is the Region champ in 8-AAA and Flowery Branch as a No. 2 seed in 8-AAAA.
1. Flowery Branch (9-1)
Power rating 2.96, points scored 355 (35.5), points allowed 120 (12): Last Friday the Falcons were beaten by a team which appeared to have a much stronger and more physical defensive line.
Clarke Central’s defense held the Flowery Branch running game to (minus 12) yards in 25 rushing attempts.
2. Southwest Dekalb (8-2)
Power rating 2.60, points scored 304 (30.4 per game), points allowed 111 (11.1): The Panthers only losses were to undefeated Tucker and an 8-2 Marist team.
3. Gainesville (9-1)
Power rating 2.53, points scored 374 (37.4), points allowed 148 (14.8): For the second time this season the Red Elephants beat a fine White County team to claim the region title and a No. 1 seed in Friday’s game.
Statistically, this was a pretty even game, Gainesville averaged 5.28 yards per run and the Warrior defense held them to a total of 95 rushing yards.
4. North Hall (5-5)
Power rating 1.10, points scored 287 (28.7), points allowed 261 (26.1): The Trojans beat Oconee County 52-28 behind a big offensive night of 513 total yards.
Imani Cross rushed for 190 yards and had 73 yards receiving.
5. Chestatee (3-7)
Power rating 0.71, points scored 232 (23.2), points allowed 328 (32.8): The War Eagles seniors went out with a nice win, beating Walnut Grove 29-21.
6. Haralson County (3-7)
Power rating 0.60, points scored 159 (15.9), points allowed 264 (26.4): Haralson County won three of their last four games to earn the fourth seed from Region 6-AAA.
7. West Hall (3-7)
Power rating 0.58, points scored 187 (18.7), points allowed 323 (32.3): The West Hall Spartans finished their season with a 55-21 loss to Franklin County.
8. East Hall (3-7)
Power rating .57, points scored 193 (19.3), points allowed 336 (33.6): The Vikings lost their final game of the season 49-0 at Jefferson last Friday.
9. Johnson (2-8)
Power rating 0.48, points scored 183 (18.3), points allowed 378 (37.8): Last Friday night the Knights finished their season in Toccoa against a real strong Stephens County team losing 56-0.
