Brenau University swept Reinhardt College in a doubleheader Sunday at Lanier Point, winning 11-0 in five innings and 6-3 in the second game.
Senior Cassie Lassiter earned the win in the first game, striking out eight and going the distance. She was also 1-for-2 at the plate.
Freshman Morgan Smith led the Golden Tigers’ offensive charge, slugging a grand slam and finishing with six RBIs. She added another home run to cap a 2-for-3 effort. Jesse-Lynn Groves was 3-for-3, and Ellen Black went 2-for-3.
Marisa Litster took the win in the second game, scattering 10 hits and striking out five in seven innings of work.
Lassiter led the offense, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Brook Bryant was 2-for-3, and Litster was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Sixteenth-ranked Brenau (19-2, 8-0 Southern States Athletic Conference) returns to action Tuesday when Southern Wesleyan visits Lanier Point for a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m.
