Chestatee boys cross country squad claims Region 8-4A championship in Bogart

The Chestatee boys cross country boys placed runners in each spot second-fifth spot to claim the team title at the Region 8-4A championship Saturday in Bogart. 

For the defending state champions, Garrett Grater was second (16 minutes, 14 seconds), Javier Rebollar place third (16:38), Aaron Retana was fourth (16:47) and Gavin Grater was fifth (16:58). 

Also for Chestatee, Noah Peters was seventh place overall (17:17). 

Up next, the War Eagles will look to repeat as state champs in Carrollton. Also qualifying for state was the Flowery Branch boys who were third overall. 

In the girls' race, Flowery Branch junior Bella Brick was runner-up (19:20). Also for the Lady Falcons, Sadie Watson took sixth place (21:06) and Skyler Seeber finished seventh (21:40).

Chestatee's Caroline Bull earned fifth place (20:45).
