The Gwinnett Braves (47-39) won on the road against the Charlotte Knights (43-44) to maintain their share of the lead in the Southern Division of the International League.

The win came from phenomenal pitching by the Gwinnett staff. Julio Teheran worked 5 innings giving up only one earned run. The win was awarded to Anthony Varvaro (2-6, 2.59 ERA), and the game was saved by Jairo Asencio, his 13th on the season.

Both 1B Chris Carter and SS Brandon Hicks had only one hit a piece in the game, but each were homeruns.

Martin Prado, who was playing in his first rehab game with Gwinnett, started the game as the designated hitter and left the game after going 0-2.
