Owings works three innings as Gwinnett falls

The Louisville Bats slugged their way to an 8-3 win over the Gwinnett Braves on Sunday in Lawrenceville, driving in six runs on three two-run home runs.

Gainesville High graduate Micah Owings started for the Bats and allowed one run in three innings of work.

Gwinnett starter Todd Redmond (8-10) took the loss, allowing five runs on six hits in six innings. Freddie Freeman led the G-Braves’ offense, hitting his 13th home run.

Gwinnett plays host to Louisville at 7 p.m. tonight.
