G-Braves edge Red Wings, 2-1

ROCHESTER, NY –The Gwinnett Braves scored two runs in the first inning and rode the solid pitching of Todd Redmond and Cory Gearrin to a 2-1 win over the Rochester Red Wings in game two of the four game series Sunday afternoon at Frontier Field in Rochester, NY. In top of the first, with two outs and the bases empty Stefan Gartrell smacked a solo homer to center field off of Red Wings starter Luke French to give Gwinnett a 1-0 lead. Ernesto Mejia followed with a double to left to extend his hitting streak to nine games. Mejia scored from second as the next batter, Drew Sutton doubled past the first-base bag for a 2-0 lead.
