Gwinnett reliever Cory Gearrin gave up two runs in the ninth inning and the Pawtucket Red Sox defeated the Gwinnett Braves 6-5 on Tuesday night at Coolray Field.
The loss snaps a five-game win streak for the G-Braves (14-13). This was Pawtucket’s first win over the G-Braves at Coolray Field in eight tries.
Center fielder Gregor Blanco went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored and first baseman Freddie Freeman went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a walk for Gwinnett.
Shortstop Angel Sanchez went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for Pawtucket (10-16).
Gwinnett is off today and travels to Syracuse in Game 1 of a four-game seriesat 7 p.m. Thursday at Alliance Bank Stadium.
