Ortegano wins first game for G-Braves

Gwinnett starting pitcher Jose Ortegano made the first start of his career at the Triple-A level Tuesday and earned his first career win in the Gwinnett Braves’ 5-4 win over the Columbus Clippers at Coolray Field. earned his first victory in the process.

Ortegano (1-0) allowed two earned runs on five hits in six innings.  In his first relief appearance since being optioned to Gwinnett on Sunday, Jo-Jo Reyes struck out two in 2 2/3 innings.

Clint Sammons went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored for Gwinnett, which plays host to Columbus in Game 2 of a four-game series at 7:05 tonight.
