The North Georgia College & State University softball team’s coaching staff was named National Fastpitch Coaches Association Souther Regional Coaching Staff of the Year last week.

The Saints, coached by head coach Mike Davenport and assistants Andrea Moss and Keri McKee, finished their historic season as the third-ranked Division-II team with a 50-5 record, a Peach Belt Conference Title and their first-ever trip to the College World Series.

Davenport has a 361-135 record in nine years with North Georgia for a winning percentage of .727.
