Brenau University lost its first game in eight outings, falling 2-1 to Auburn-Montgomery on Sunday in Montgomery before coming back to win 2-1 in the second game behind a strong pitching performance by senior Marisa Litster.

Cassie Lassiter went six innings for the No. 13 Golden Tigers (22-3, 10-1 Southern States Athletic Conference), striking out five and giving up one run in the first game. Ellen Black had Brenau’s only hit, a home run.

In the second game, Litster pitched a complete game, striking out four and walking one. Six Golden Tigers had one hit to provide the offense.

Brenau returns to action Wednesday, playing host to No. 19 Shorter College.
