Jaybo Shaw rushes for 3 TDs in 31-10 win against Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Dominique Swope rushed for a career-high 165 yards to lead Georgia Southern to a 31-10 victory over Wofford on Saturday, giving the Eagles the Southern Conference championship.

Quarterback Jaybo Shaw rushed for three touchdowns for the Eagles (9-1, 7-1), who earned their ninth conference title and first since 2004.

Shaw also threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Zach Walker that gave Georgia Southern a 10-7 halftime lead.

Swope, a freshman who came into the game with 273 yards, had a 29-yard run during a first-quarter drive that led to the game's first score, a field goal. He also had runs of 15 and 24 yards on the Eagles' final touchdown drive in the fourth quarter.

Georgia Southern controlled the clock, running 76 plays to 45 for the Terriers (7-3, 5-2) and maintaining possession for 36:41.

The visiting team has won the last seven meetings between Georgia Southern and Wofford.
