BRASELTON — Mat Mladin made it a weekend sweep Sunday at Road Atlanta, winning the AMA American Superbike race No. 2 by more than four seconds over Blake Young.

Mladin also won Saturday’s Superbike race.

Geoff May of Gainesville finished third for the second straight day.

"It was a little worse than (Saturday)," May said. "I was afraid I was going to get run over there (at the start). I almost killed the bike. I was saying, ‘Oh God, I hope somebody doesn’t run in to the back of me and run me over, end my day.’

"I just put my head down again and we really had the bike set up good for the end of the race."

Mladin came back from a morning crash to win the afternoon race.

"I had a bit of a tumble this morning and the guys got the bike back together. Everything felt as usual and normal for the race. It was a good race for us.

"I pushed my luck one too many times today already, so I decided to have a bit of fun at the end."
