Local golf: Norris wins low net at Chattahoochee

The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a low gross, low net game Tuesday at Chattahoochee Golf Course.

In the first flight, Sally Smith and Mona White won the low gross and Ethel Smith won the low net.

In the second flight, Carolyn Brown won the low gross and Nancy Norris won the low net.

Closest to the pin winners were Sally Smith (No. 17) and Nora Gleason (No. 3).

The Wednesday Dogfight golf group played Wednesday at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

The team of Sonny Sykes, Gary Mott, Jeff Frasier and Mark Black won the game. The team of Branon Martin, Mike Stokes, Pete Smith and Rich Cassidy finished second.

Martin finished first individually, shooting a 63. Walter Hope finished second with a 68. Frasier, Jerry Horton, Tim Miller and Stokes tied for third, each carding a 69.

The Chattahooche Men’s Golf Association played a three best ball, net points game Thursday at Chattahoochee Golf Course.

The team of J.B. Johnson, Milton Martin, Gary Myers and A.J. Kiker won the game. The team of Johnny Little, Jerry Ermlich, Dave Long and Tony Denote finished second.

The team of Dwight Olson, Jack Costello, Joe Kolesar and Jere Cochran and the team of Jimmy Johnson, Roy Lyle, Don Graff and Don Wells tied for third.

The team of Eddie Johnson, Gene Weschler, Harry Barnett and Denny Momper finished fifth.
Closest to the pin winners were Long (No. 3), John Williams (No. 5), Kiker (No. 12). Lyle and Johnston tied on Hole No. 17.
