Local golf: Kolesar's team wins three best ball match

The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a three best ball, net points game on Wednesday at Chattahoochee Golf Course.

First place went to the team of Joe Kolesar, Larry Cohan, Roy Lyle and Rolf Legbandt. Second finished in a tie between the team of Jack Costello, Harry Barnett, Jere Cochran and Jimmy Johnson and the team of Dick Bachman, Denny Momper, J. B. Johnston and John T. Smith.

Closest to the pin winners are Barnett (No. 3), Bud Clegg (No. 5), Costello (No. 12) and Bachman (No. 17).

The Luna’s Tuesday golf group played this week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

First place went to the team of Jim Cornett, Gene Cobb, Gene Weschler and Richard Strickland. Second place went to the team of Bud Chandler, Larry Miller, Doug Van and Tom Sexton. Third place finished in a tie between the team of Bud Black. Mark Thorton, Don Smallwood, and Stan Davidson Sr. and the team of Michael Gordy, Randy Gordy, Johnny Nix, and Johnny Crumley.

Closest to the pin winners were Tommy Lowery (No. 2 Mill), Michael Gordy (No. 5 Mill), Nix (No. 4 School) and Cornett (No. 8 School).

The Wednesday Dogfight golf group played this week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

First place went to the team of Terry Clegg, Bill Jorgenson, Jerry Horton and Mike Kishimoto.

Kishimoto finished first individually. Tommy Calhoun finished second. Dan Arthurs, Horton and Clegg tied for third.
