Local golf: Guys and Dolls event held at Chattahoochee

The Chattahoochee Ladies’ Golf Association and the Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association held their 2nd Annual Guys and Dolls Tournament on Tuesday at Chattahoochee Golf Course. The event was played in Modified Lauderdale Net Best Ball format.

First place went to the team of Carlyle Cox, Don Wells, Jim Hesser and Carolyn Palmer. Second place went to the team of Gary Palmer, Larry Smith, Beulah Land and Paula Pilgrim. Third place finished in a tie between the team of Joe Kolesar, John Williams, Jewell Floyd and Nancy Norris and the team of Al Pannell, Eddie Johnson, Sue Cronmiller and Betty Norton.

Closest to the pin winners were Kolesar (No. 3, No. 17), Johnson (No. 5) and Wells (No. 12)

Wednesday Dogfight:The Wednesday Dogfight golf group played this week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

First place went to the team of Tommy Calhoun, Keith Fitzgerald and Jerry Horton.

Second place went to the team of Josh Bunch, Mike Tilson and Richard Drye.

Horton and Fitzgerald tied for first in individual play. Drye finished third.

Luna’s Tuesday Golf Group: The Luna’s Tuesday Golf Group played this week at Chestatee Golf Course in Dawsonville.

First place went to the team of Gene Weschler, Royce Deaton, Frank House and Jerry Ward.

Second place went to the team of Richard Strickland, Jack Barrett, Tommy Lowery and Don Rogers.

Closest to the pin winners were Barrett (No. 3), Nelson Wright (No. 7), Ward (No. 11), Jimmy Harritos (No. 15) and Weschler (No. 17).

Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a scramble format Wednesday at Chattahoochee Golf Course.

First place went to the team of John Gibbs, Stu Virgin, Bud Clegg and Leo Whalen. Second place went to the team of Jack Costello, Bill Sutton, Al Pannell and Bob Watson. Third place went to the team of Leroy Harper, Jim Carroll, Gary Palmer and Jim Martin. Fourth place went to the team of Joe Kolesar, Bob Henderson, Harry Barnett and John T. Smith.

Closest to the pin winners were Kolesar (No. 3, hole-in-one), Smith (No. 5), Don Wells (No. 12) and Gary Myers (No. 17).
