Local golf: Chattahoochee holds weekly ladies match

The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a low net, low gross match on Tuesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

In the first flight, Lisa Rush won the low net and Sue Cronmiller won the low gross. In the second flight, Peggy Hall won the low net and Ethel Smith won the low gross. In the third flight, Jewell Floyd won the low net with Nora Gleason winning the low gross.Closest to the pin winners were Mona White on the front nine and Lisa Rush on the back nine.

‘Hooch men play scramble

The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a Scramble format on Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

Leroy Harper, Marty Anderson, Gary Myers and John T. Smith finished first with 55.9 points. Second place went to Jack Costello, Ben Brooks and Jere Cochran. The team of John Williams, Roy Lyle and Glynn Rogers and the team of John Gibb, Harry Bennett, Greg Taira and Claude Schneider tied for third with 58 points. Fifth place went to Dick Bachman, Don Wells, Jerry Ermlich and Gene Dusenberry. Sixth place went to Bobby Lawson, Bob Henderson, Gary Palmer and Bob Watson.

Closest to the hole winners were Barnett (No. 3), Watson (No. 5), Williams (No. 12) and Bachman (No. 17).

Jorgenson wins Dogfight

The Wednesday Dogfight golf group played on Wednesday at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.
Mark Black, Wayne Strickland, Mike Zeigler and Mike Stokes finished first. Second place went to Neil Tolbert, Billy Corbin, Jerry Horton and Geoff Archibald.

Bill Jorgenson finished first individually with plus-eight. Archibald finished second with plus-seven. Mike Stokes and Larry Stokes tied for third with plus five. Mark Black and Walter Hope tied for fifth with plus-four and Justin Bates and Billy Corbin tied for seventh with plus-two.
