The West Hall boys basketball team moved up two spots to No. 2 in Class AAA in this week’s Prepcountry.com Coaches Poll, released Tuesday.
The Spartans (18-4, 9-1 Region 8B-AAA) lost to Gainesville in triple overtime on Monday, but recovered to defeat Oconee County 61-27 on Tuesday.
Buford (14-4, 4-1 Region 6A-AA) moved up one place to No. 8 in Class AA, while Union County (18-1, 4-1 Region 8A-AA) fell two spots to No. 9.
On the girls side, Buford (17-2, 11-0) fell from second to third after a 48-37 loss to Class A’s top-ranked Wesleyan on Jan. 29.
Also from Class A, Towns County (20-2, 9-0 Region 8-A) moved up two spots to No. 5, while Chestatee (18-4, 6-1 Region 8A-AAA) fell three spots to No. 9 in Class AAA after losing two of three games last week.
