The Johnson High boys soccer team dropped two spots to No. 9 in the national rankings of the latest USA Today/National Soccer Coaches Association of America Super 25 poll released Tuesday.

The Knights (14-0, 7-0 Region 8-AAAA) were named the seventh-best team in the country in the previous week's poll for boys spring soccer.

Johnson routed Madison County 10-0 last week to officially clinch its third straight region title.

The Knights trail behind three other Georgia soccer powers, including sixth-ranked McIntosh (previously No. 12), third-ranked Chattahoochee (no change) and top-ranked Dalton (no change). Dalton is a three-time defending state champion.

Four other Georgia schools cracked the poll's top rankings, including Whitewater High (No. 11), Mill Creek (No. 13), Lakeside (No. 15) and Greenbrier (No. 21).

Johnson, top-ranked in Class AAAA, has secured a return to the state playoffs, where the Knights fell to Cross Keys in last year's quarterfinals. The Knights next travel to Class A Lakeview Academy 7:30 p.m. April 12.

BUFORD GIRLS RANKED SIXTH IN CLASS AAAA: The Buford High girls soccer team (11-2, 7-0 Region 8-AAAA) is currently ranked No. 6 in its classification. The Lady Wolves, who are riding a 10-game winning streak, next travel to play Lumpkin County 5:30 p.m. April 12. 

EAST HALL BOYS RANKED NO. 2 IN CLASS AAA: The East Hall High boys soccer team (14-1, 4-0 Region 7-AAA) is ranked No. 2 in its classification. The Vikings next travel to non-region Jackson County 7:30 p.m. April 12. 

The Dawson County boys (10-2-1, 4-0 Region 7-AAA) are ranked No. 3 in Class AAA. The Tigers next host Banks County 7:30 p.m. April 15. The Dawson County girls (11-1-1, 4-0) are ranked No. 2 in Class AAA, and next host Banks County 5:30 p.m. April 15. 

Defending state champion West Hall (6-4-1, 4-1 Region 7-AAA) is currently ranked No. 7 in the classification. The Spartans next host East Hall 7:30 p.m. April 15.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS RANKED NO. 6 IN CLASS AAAAA: The Gainesville High girls soccer team (12-2, 9-0 Region 8-AAAAA) is ranked No. 6 in its classification. The Red Elephants next host Loganville 5:30 p.m. April 15. 

RIVERSIDE RANKED NO. 4 IN CLASS AA: The Riverside Military Academy boys soccer team (8-2-1, 5-0 Region 8-AA) is currently ranked No. 4 in its classification. The Eagles next host non-region Dacula 5:30 p.m. Friday. 

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS, GIRLS RANKED NO. 10 IN CLASS A: The Lakeview Academy boys soccer team (7-4-1, 5-0 Region 8-A) and the Lakeview girls team (10-3, 5-0) are both ranked No. 10 in their classification. The school next hosts Johnson High on April 12.
