Prep scoreboard: Trojans' walk-off home run stuns Buford

North Hall’s K.J. McAllister hit a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs to defeat Buford 2-1 on Monday night at Jody Davis Field in Gainesville.

The Trojans (3-1) maintained a no-hitter through six innings but fell behind when Buford’s Josh Rudnik singled to score Will Bowers to take a 1-0 lead.

North Hall’s Josh Haymore was walked in the bottom of the seventh inning, setting McAllister up for the game-winning home run.

Taylor Daniels was the winning pitcher for the Trojans, who allowed only two hits.

North Hall play host to Lumpkin County at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Franklin County 10, White County 7

White County scored six runs in the final three innings, but were unable to rally in their loss to Franklin County on Monday night in Cleveland.

The Lions scored three runs in the first inning to take an early lead and were able to hold off the Warriors’ with seven more runs of their own.

Casey Jones led White County (2-2) at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Kevin Fredrick went 1-for-3 with a home run.

The Spartans travel to Gilmer at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Banks County 7, Dawson County 4

Banks County scored seven runs in the second inning and didn’t need any more to defeat Dawson County on Monday night in Homer.

Jeff Smith led the Leopards (4-2) at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double. Justin Gibbs also contributed with a two-run home run.

Kasey Hudgins picked up the win in relief for Banks County. Austin Lark earned the loss for the Tigers (3-3).

The Leopards travel to Fannin County at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

GOLF

White County girls 90, Hart County 91, Pickens 104

The combined efforts of White County’s Sarah Holmes and Chelsea Ash were enough to defeat Hart County by one stroke in a tri-match on Monday at Mossy Creek Golf Course in Cleveland.

Holmes led the Lady Warriors with a 44, while Chelsea Ash carded a 46.

Hart County was led by Kimberly Tucker’s 40, the lowest score of the match.

Aly Rattazi led third-place Pickens with a 51.

White County travels to Gold Creek Golf Course in Dawsonville at 3:30 p.m. Thursday for a match against Dawson County.

Dawson County girls 89, East Jackson 134

Kasay Holbrook shot a 40 for the Tigers (2-1) in their win over East Jackson on Monday at Sandy Creek Golf Course in Commerce.

Charley Whitmire shot a 49 for Dawson County, which travels to Chateau Elan on Thursday for a match against Buford.

Dawson County boys 170, East Jackson 178

Tyler Godwin was the low medallist of match, shooting a 38 for Dawson County.

Taylor Adamson shot a 43 for the Tigers (3-3), while Matt Christopher and Justin Denard each shot a 45.

Tennis

Johnson girls 4, Gainesville 1

Katie Clark and Cady Nix each won singles matches in straight sets for the Lady Knights in their win over Gainesville on Monday in Oakwood.

Johnson (3-2) clinched the win by sweeping in doubles matches with wins from the teams of Laura Gazaway/Claire Crain and Camy Fields/Stephanie Hulsey.

Stephanie Olsen was the lone winner for the Red Elephants, winning a singles match.

The Knights travel to West Hall at 4 p.m. today. Gainesville plays host to Flowery Branch at 4 p.m. today.

West Hall boys 4, Forsyth Central 1

Chris Evans and Alan Clark won singles matches for West Hall in their win over Forsyth Central on Monday in Cumming.

In doubles matches, the teams of Derek Weatherly/Ricky Vital and Jimmy Kincaid/Kyle Weatherly each won, sealing the victory for the Spartans (5-1).

Cole Cribbs won the lone match for Forsyth Central.

West Hall plays host to Johnson at 3:45 p.m. today.

West Hall girls 3, Forsyth Central 2

The doubles teams of Alex Wright/Ali Parham and Samantha Lingle/Kayla Cansler both won for West Hall to help the Lady Spartans defeat Forsyth Central on Monday in Cumming.

Chelsea Britt won the lone singles match for the Spartans (4-2).

Kayla Deak and Amy DiTorio were Forsyth Central’s winners in singles.

West Hall boys 4, Winder-Barrow 1

West Hall opened up their Northeast Georgia Mountains Cup with a win over Winder-Barrow on Monday night at Chestatee High School in Gainesville.

The Spartans (3-3-2) took an early lead with a goal from Juan Arbelaez and two goals from Alex Munoz in the first half. Gerson Mejia scored in the second half.

Jamie King made eight saves in goal for West Hall.

The Spartans return to Chestatee at 5:30 p.m. Thursday for match against Johnson.

Apalachee boys 2, Chestatee 0

The War Eagles opened their Northeast Georgia Mountains Cup with a shutout loss to Apalachee on Monday night in Gainesville.

Tyler Esson made ten saves in goal for Chestatee, which will play host to Buford in another cup game at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Johnson girls 9, Gilmer 0

Six different Lady Knights scored in their win over Gilmer on Monday night in Ellijay.

Ana Contreras led Johnson with three goals while Kayleigh Durden had two. Coco Perez, Jessica McClure, Kat Pinchen and Amanda Whittmer each scored one goal.

Elizabeth Zamora recorded the shutout in goal for the Lady Knights.

Johnson travels to Jekyll Island on Thursday for the Tournament of Champions.
