Outlook: A week ago, Washington-Wilkes was fighting to secure its 10th consecutive playoff berth. The Tigers’ reward for a win in the Region 8-AA playoffs?

A trip to Buford to take on the top-ranked Wolves.

Buford is coming off its closest game of the season — a 21-0 win over Lovett last week in which they allowed only 38 yards of total offense (minus 30 on the ground thanks to five sacks and four tackles behind the line of scrimmage).

Yes, that’s been the Wolves biggest test so far.

Even after a season-low offensive output last week, Buford is averaging more than 46 points per game and has plenty of sources it can turn to for offense. Murray, a South Florida recruit, leads the team with 799 rushing yards (8.2 per carry) and 15 touchdowns.

Prediction: BUFORD. Scott ran wild for the Tigers against Banks County last week. That won’t happen against one of the state’s best run defenses.
