Outlook: Despite going unbeaten in 8-AAAA this season, seventh-ranked Habersham Central drew the No. 2 seed in the region’s subdivided format, and with it a tough draw in the first round of the playoffs.
Marist reached the state title game last season and have lost only twice this year — 30-0 to No. 2 Tucker, and 23-17 in overtime to Mays.
The War Eagles again feature a power running game based out of the wishbone, led by senior quarterback Cooper Taylor, and will test the Raiders’ talented front seven.
Prediction: HABERSHAM CENTRAL. In a game between two solid, well-coached team, the better talent wins out.
