There’s no such thing as an off night for the North Hall High football team.
The Trojans (9-0, 4-0 Region 7A-AAA) walked into Valhalla on Friday night and walked out with a 73-20 win against East Hall (0-9, 0-4).
Class AAA’s No. 3 ranked Trojans can secure the Region 7-AAA title with a win at Chestatee next Friday.
If the Trojans win next week, they play host to Region 5-AAA’s No. 4 seed on Nov. 16 at The Brickyard to open the Class AAA state playoffs.
The Trojans are looking to lock up their third region championship in the past four seasons.
Running, passing and unrelenting defense set the stage for North Hall’s victory Friday night.
The Trojans started the game on a strong note with a 49-yard touchdown catch by Dylon Wolf and 63-yard catch by Bobby Epps from North Hall quarterback Fabian Jackson early in the first quarter. Epps added a touchdown run from the 17 and Hunter Wolf scored on a 50-yard run before the end of the first quarter.
Hunter Wolf also returned an interception 61 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. Epps added a 17-yard touchdown run.
North Hall finished the night with nine different players scoring touchdowns. Playing against winless East Hall, the Trojans started relieving their starters in the second quarter.
Ethan Chaffin, Robert Humphrey, Ben Booth and Matt Christmas added touchdown runs for the Trojans.
Peyton Wilhoite scored for North Hall on a 22-yard touchdown pass from sophomore Nathan Jones.
Desmon Gardner scored on a 2-yard run for the Vikings in the fourth quarter. Bo Duckworth scored for East Hall on a 26-yard pass from Gardner, also in the fourth quarter.
East Hall wraps up its season next Friday against Gilmer.
