The Jefferson High football team ended a 12-game losing skid to arch rival Commerce with a 42-7 win Friday night at Jefferson Memorial Stadium.

With the win, the Dragons (7-2, 3-0 Region 8-A) will visit Athens Academy at 7:30 p.m. Friday to decide the Region 8-A championship.

"This was obviously a huge win for us tonight," Jefferson quarterbacks coach Jason Connor said. "But the big game comes (Friday) against Athens Academy."

Jefferson scored 42 unanswered points following an early Tigers (6-4, 2-2) touchdown. The Dragons finished with 415 yards of total offense.

Jefferson quarterback Josh Bohannan finished the game 15 of 16 for 253 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
