ATLANTA — Class AA welcomes two first-time members — No. 9 Swainsboro and No. 10 Fannin County — while Early County and Lovett exit with two losses in this week’s Associated Press high school football poll. The top three remain, with Buford leading the ranks, while the middle three each move up a position. No. 7 Savannah Christian climbs two as No. 8 Dodge County falls four.

No. 8 Carver-Atlanta leaps two positions in Class AAA while No. 9 LaGrange and No. 10 Hart County fall one. The top seven remain the same with Carver-Columbus at No. 1, Stephens County at No. 2 and North Hall at No. 3.

North Hall will play host to Region 5-AAA’s No. 4 seed McNair at the Brickyard on Friday in the first round of the state playoffs.Chamblee and Flowery Branch, who will meet Friday night, both fell just out of the top 10, among others receiving votes.

White County will travel to take on 5-AAA champions, Carver-Atlanta.

The final shakeout in Class AAAAA sees No. 3 Norcross climbing three slots after beating North Gwinnett and causing them to fall three to No. 5. M.L. King moves up a notch to No. 2, Harrison falls five places to No. 9, and Valdosta enters the rankings at No. 10 after Stephenson experiences its second loss and exits. North Cobb continues into the playoffs at No. 1.

The only changes in Class AAAA are No. 8 Dalton advancing one and taking over for exiting Westside-Macon, No. 9 Griffin doing the same, and Rome coming back into the rankings at No. 10.

This will be the last poll until the completion of the playoffs.
