Riverside Military Academy endured a mistake-prone season opener Friday night in losing 40-6 at Elbert County.

Riverside accumulated 10 penalties for 105 yards.

Aaron Gambrah led the defense with 11 tackles and then switched to quarterback in the second quarter and completed 2-of-4 passes for 8 yards.

Riverside plays host to Banks County at 7:30 p.m. next Friday.
