After dropping the second game of Wednesday’s second-round playoff baseball series, North Hall’s season comes down to a deciding third game at 4 p.m. against top-ranked Locust Grove in Henry County. Game time is 4 p.m. today.

The Trojans lost the second game 9-1, after winning the first 4-1.

NORTH HALL 4, LOCUST GROVE 1: Trojans starting pitcher Reese Olson allowed just six hits in six innings of work to earn the victory in Game 1 of the best-of-three series. Senior Drew Atha picked up the save by recording the final three outs in the seventh inning.

North Hall did its damage in the middle innings with help from the Locust Grove defense. The Trojans were able to take advantage of a two-base error on a two-out single from shortstop Taber Mongero to go up 2-0.

The Trojans scored again in the top of the third inning via passed ball. North Hall’s final run of the contest came in the top of the fourth inning on another two-out error.

Olson cruised until the bottom of the sixth inning when Odlanier Rodrigues put the Wildcats on the board with a RBI single. Olson got around two Locust Grove runners on base to end the inning with no further damage.
