McCormack runs PR at New Balance Nationals

North Hall High graduate Ty McCormack placed fourth overall at the New Balance Nationals with a new personal best time of 14 minutes 47 seconds in the 5,000 meter race on Thursday in Greensboro, N.C.

McCormack, who will run cross country and track next season at Clemson University, finished less than 10 seconds behind the first place finisher. He was named an All-American for his efforts.

This season, McCormack won the 1,600 and 3,200 meter race at the Georgia Olympics. He was also named The Times 2009 Cross Country Boys Runner of the Year.
