Ty Maxwell has resigned from his position as head football coach at Lumpkin County High School.

Maxwell had coached for two seasons with the Indians, totalling a 7-14 record and a postseason appearance in 2014.

Maxwell was hired as the Indians’ offensive coordinator in January 2014, then promoted to head coach when former coach Brad Waggoner accepted a job as Georgia Tech’s new assistant director of football player personnel.

“At this point, I do not know if I will be continuing on in any role at Lumpkin County,” said Maxwell. “I have appreciated the wonderful opportunity to coach here the past two seasons. I wish the parents, fans, faculty, administration, and most importantly, the kids the very best moving forward and look forward to their future success.”
