Lady Wolves and Lady Panthers top Class AA softball poll

The Buford High softball team remains No. 1 in the latest Coaches Poll, released Tuesday.

Buford (24-4) will play host to fourth-seeded Dawson County from Region 8-AA at 5 p.m. Wednesday for a best-of-three series in the first round of the state tournament.

Region 8-AA champion Union County (24-1-1) remains No. 2 in the poll and will play host to Region 6-AA’s four seed, Lovett, at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Blairsville.

In Class AAA, White County (22-6) remains No. 6 in the state and will play host to Carrollton (No. 3 seed from Region 6-AAA) beginning at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the opening round of the Class AAA state tournament. The Lady Warriors are the No. 2 seed from Region 8-AAA. Softball Coaches Poll
