The Jackson County girls’ cross country team will compete in the Class AAA state championship meet next Saturday in Canollton after finishing second in 8-AAA’s region meet on Thursday in Athens.

Brittany Aikens finished second overall to lead the Lady Panthers, Sydney Baird finished eighth and Rachel Pasko finished 11th. Lexie Miller finished 24th and Mary Collin finished 29th.
