Chestatee High hired Kevin Strickland on Monday as its new boys basketball coach, as announced by War Eagles athletic director Ben Corley in a press release.

He takes over as head of the program for former coach Chad Pittman, who was named April 19 as the new coach at Dawson County High. Strickland comes to Chestatee after spending the past 10 years as assistant coach at Brookwood High in Snellville.

This is Strickland’s first head coaching position.

“Coach Strickland has been a vital part of the rebuilding process at Brookwood,” said Corley. “His basketball knowledge and experience together with his enthusiasm and energy make him a perfect fit to lead the War Eagles’ basketball program.

Coach Strickland is committed to developing quality young men, quality basketball players and returning excitement to War Eagles basketball.”
