Jefferson ran away with the Area 8-AA traditionals tournament at Elbert County on Saturday, as the Dragons came away with 10 area champions and three runners-up.

All 13 Jefferson wrestlers will advance to sectionals. Banks County finished second in the tournament and placed 11 wrestlers in the top-four. Jackson County (fourth) will send seven wrestlers to sectionals and Dawson County (fifth) will send four.

East Hall finished eighth as a team and four wrestlers finished in the top four to advance to sectionals. JD Holloway finished second and Carlos Negron, Edward Vergara and Tyler Thomas all placed fourth.

FLOWERY BRANCH QUALIFIES 8: The Falcons finished third overall at the Area 8-AAAA traditionals at Habersham Central High and placed eight wrestlers in the top-four.

Second-place finishers included Nick Lankford (132), Eli Bloomfield (160) and Keaton Coker (285). Ben Horton (120), Zach Winter (126), Caleb Murphy (138) and Grant Simonds (195) finished third. Anthony Williams (170) came in fourth.

Sectionals begin at 5 p.m. Friday at Loganville High.
