Hollis, Carnes earn region's top player honors

Ishmael Hollis of Flowery Branch and Jaymee Carnes of Gainesville were announced on Monday as the 2010 7-AAA All-Region boys and girls Players of the Year as voted on by the region coaches.

Hollis, a Western Carolina signee, averaged 22.2 points per game with 10.4 rebounds for the Falcons this season.

Carnes, a Wake Forest signee, averaged 18.5 points with 10.5 rebounds, 103 blocks and 56 steals while leading the Lady Red Elephants to the region title.
