Gainesville topped Cherokee Bluff (23-25, 28-26, 17-15) and lost to Jefferson (13-25, 25-21, 15-5) on Tuesday to open the season. Ansley Turner had 16 kills, three aces and 10 digs for the Lady Red Elephants, while Isabella Garrish added three kills, 24 assists and four digs.
