High school scoreboard: Winters, Mize lead East Hall girls basketball past Lumpkin County

Carly Winters tallied a team-high 33 points, while Kylah Mize added 20 points to lead East Hall’s girls (9-7, 4-1 Region 7-AAA) to a 67-36 win against Lumpkin County on Friday.

East Hall continues their region slate at home against Dawson County 6 p.m. today in Gainesville.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 49, JOHNSON BOYS 42: John Mills was the lone starter to score in the double digits with 10 points, and the Falcons (15-3, 4-2 Region 8-AAAAA) rolled to their fourth straight victory. Brannon Clark and Justin Quick were others to pace the offense with nine points apiece.

Flowery Branch hosts Cedar Shoals at 7:30 p.m. today.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 71, JOHNSON GIRLS 6: Ashley Woodroffe led the Lady Falcons (13-3, 4-1 Region 8-AAAAA) with 11 points, followed by Lexie Sengkhammee and Julianne Sutton with 10 points apiece. Carly Shaw and Caroline Wysocki each scored nine.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 74, RIVERSIDE MILITARY ACADEMY 47: Two starters scored in the double digits, and the Lions (11-4, 6-0 Region 8-A) extended their unbeaten streak in Region 8-A play. Tre Gober notched a double-double of 22 points and 11 boards, followed by Drew Cottrell with 21 points. Josh Randolph snagged eight rebounds for the Lions as well.

Lakeview Academy hosts Towns County 6 p.m. today in Gainesville.

BUFORD GIRLS 71, CEDAR SHOALS 19: Rachel Dobbs racked up a game-high 21 points and the Lady Wolves (14-0, 6-0 Region 8-AAAAA) knocked down a combined 13 3-pointers to hand Cedar Shoals its first fifth loss in Region 8-AAAAA play.

Three other starters amassed double figures, Tory Ozment scoring 14 points, followed by Jessica Nelson and Audrey Weiner with 11 apiece.

Buford hosts top-ranked Harrison 6 p.m. today in Buford.

BUFORD BOYS 75, CEDAR SHOALS 70 (OT): David Viti led the Wolves with 23 points and six boards, while Alex Jones added 12 points, four boards and dished five assists. Dawson Wehunt had 11 points and three rebounds.

For Cedar Shoals, Phlandrous Fleming notched 24 points, followed by Arthur Jones with 15 and Quen Hall with 11.
Buford (14-2, 6-0 Region 8-AAAAA) hosts Harrison in a non-region contest 7:30 p.m. today in Buford.

BANKS COUNTY BOYS 46, PUTNAM COUNTY 44: Dylan Orr racked up a double-double of 14 points and 15 rebounds, and added five blocks as the Leopards (12-4, 4-0 Region 8-AA) held on for their ninth-consecutive win since Dec. 13.

Kahmal Wiley was another to notch double-double numbers with 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Carl Cleveland added 11 points to lead the Leopards.
