White County’s bats were hot in the Lady Warriors 16-0, three-inning defeat of Gilmer on Thursday in Ellijay.
Morgan Jacobson led the way at the plate finishing 2-for-2 with three RBIs and a home run. Heather Herliske was 3-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and two runs scored, Katherine Sledge was 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored and Stephanie Satterfield was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a two runs scored.
The Lady Warriors (7-1, 3-1 7-AAA) visit Pickens at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday.
JEFFERSON 5, COMMERCE 0: Kara Perry led Jefferson pitching a nearly perfect game in the circle at the Lady Dragons home field Thursday.
Perry had nine strikeouts and only gave up one hit in the game. Morgan McKinney led Jefferson at the plate going 2-for-4 with one run scored and an RBI, Sydney Roberts went 1-for-3 with a scored run and one RBI, and Jordyn Whitfield went 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Jefferson (5-4) visits Elberton County at 5:55 p.m. Monday.
WEST HALL 6, EAST HALL 2: Miranda Miller led the Lady Spartans going 3-for-4 with two RBIs in their win Thursday at East Hall.
Kristen Bryant went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Tracy Pham went 1-for-3 with a two-RBI triple. Emily Hammond got the win in the circle pitching ten strikeouts and giving up three hits.
The Lady Spartans visit Gainesville at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday.
VOLLEYBALL
Buford splits tri-match
The Lady Wolves lost their first match of the night against North Hall (25-13, 25-10) at the North Hall on Thursday.
Buford’s was led by Jenna Fulletta with five digs and five assists.
The Lady Wolves went on to defeat West Hall (26-24, 13-25, 25,23) in their second match. Morgan Nash led Buford with seven kills, Nancy Mattox had five kills and three blocks and Fulletta had five aces and eight assists.
Buford (6-7) plays host to Hebron Christian and Talluah Falls at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Johnson sweeps Pickens, Chestatee
Johnson defeated Pickens (27-25, 19-25, 25-23) in its first match at Chestatee High on Monday night.
Caitlin Sloan led the Lady Knights with 10 kills, Mary Fiorentino had five kills and Shelley Farley had eight digs.
In the Lady Knights’ second match, the team rallied to defeat Chestatee in two games (25-22, 25-22). Jenna Stone led Johnson with four kills and Farley had six aces.
Johnson (3-5) will visit East Hall in a tri-match against the Lady Vikings and Tallulah Falls at 5 p.m. Monday.
North Hall earns the sweep
North Hall defeated Buford in two games (25-12, 15-10) and went on beat West Hall (25-18, 22-25, 25-13) at North Hall on Thursday.
Evann Rowland led North Hall to victory with 12 kills, 12 digs and two blocks, Sarah Paschall had six kills and four aces in a seven-point service run, Kathryn Bell and 25 assists, four kills and three digs and Megan Cox had four aces in a seven-point service run.
North Hall visits Creekview for a playdate against Chestatee, Pickens and the Lady Grizzlies at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Gainesville loses two
The Lady Red Elephants drop matches to Morgan County (25-12, 25-17) and Eastside (25-17, 25-19) at Morgan County on Thursday. Tiarra Hill led the Lady Red Elephants with two kills and a block and Shaye Rober had one ace and a dig.
Gainesville (1-7) will visit Flowery Branch for a quad-match against the Lady Falcons, Lambert and East Hall at 5 p.m. Monday.
