The West Hall volleyball team continued its six-match win streak, coming back from a 0-4 record in the region, defeating rival North Hall (25-23, 17-25, 25-13) and East Hall (25-12, 25-17) on Tuesday in Gainesville.Senior Kristen Holmes led the Spartans (14-16, 5-4 Area 7-AAA) to victory with 17 kills on the night.
Tonya Bennett had seven kills for West Hall, Erica Grainger had 30 assists and Nicollete Ashley led the defense with 13 digs.
North Hall went on to defeat East Hall (25-17, 25-23) to split for the night.
The Spartans visit Pickens to face the Dragons and Lambert at 6 p.m. Sept. 29 in Jasper.
North Hall plays host to Gainesville and West Forsyth on Thursday.
Johnson splits at home
Shelley Farley had 13 digs and 13 assists on the night as the Knights beat Gainesville (23-25, 25-14, 25-13) on Tuesday in Oakwood.
Johnson (11-14, 4-2 Area 7-AAA) lost to Creekview, 25-17, 25-13, to start the night.
Mary Fiorentino had eight digs and six aces on the night for the Knights.
Gainesville was defeated by Johnson and Creekview (25-15, 25-6).
Shaye Roper led the Red Elephants with 11 digs and eight assists and Katelyn Whelchel had eight kills and eight digs on the night.
Gainesville visits North Hall to face the Trojans and West Forsyth on Thursday.
Johnson will compete in the Spike Fest on Friday and Saturday in Conyers.
DAWSON COUNTY 5, JEFFERSON 1: Jefferson senior Brittney Smith went 1-for-3 with a run scored in the Dragons’ loss to Dawson County on Tuesday in Jefferson.
