The North Hall softball team defeated Lumpkin County 6-2 on Monday night.

Hannah Meeler earned the complete-game win with one strikeout and one earned run allowed. Emily Joy led the defense, including throwing out a batter at first base from right field.

Kaitlin Edwards went 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Lady Trojans, as Carson McCormack was 2 for 3 with a double. Ashlyn Brewster and Michaela Young both went 2 for 3, and Young had an RBI. Meeler added two RBIs.

BUFORD BLANKS ETOWAH: Peyton Wolfe tossed a complete-game shutout in the Buford softball team’s 8-0 victory against Etowah on Monday.

Wolfe (2-1) allowed three hits and tallied three strikeouts.

Jordan Deep led the Lady Wolves’ offense, going 2 for 2 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored.

Samantha Thomas had a double, an RBI and a run, with Remington Hasty adding a double and an RBI and Tessa Daniels contributing an RBI and a run.

Buford (23-1) hosts Chestatee today in Region 8-AAAA action. It will be the Wolves’ Senior Night.

 

Volleyball

JEFFERSON GOES 3-3 IN TOURNEY: The Jefferson volleyball team went 3-3 at the Conyers Classic, capped by a 1-3 mark Saturday.

The Lady Dragons (21-13) defeated Loganville and Woodland, both by 2-0 scores, Friday.

Jefferson lost to Grovetown (2-0), Lee County (2-1) and Lakeside (2-0) on Saturday, when it also beat Jonesboro (2-1). All of the weekend matches came against teams from larger classifications.

Leading the Dragons for the weekend were Abby Wood with 37 kills, four aces and 38 digs and Grace Williamson with 33 kills and 16 aces.

Daniella Franco added 23 kills and seven digs, Lindsey Nilsen supplied 22 kills, four aces and 11 digs and Bre Abarnas contributed 21 kills, nine aces and four digs for Jefferson.

The Dragons host George Walton Academy and Lumpkin County on Thursday for their Senior Night.
