The Buford softball team defeated Northside Warner-Robbins 1-0 in six innings in the Brookwood Invitational at Collins Hill on Friday.

Melissa Dickie (7-3) earned the win from the circle, throwing a complete game with four strikeouts while surrendering only two hits. Cara Cole, Madyson Wynegar and Lexi Overstreet each had a hit for Buford (15-4, 3-0 Region 6A-AA).

Kallie Case had a sacrifice RBI for the Lady Wolves, who continue play today in the Brookwood Invitational.

UNION COUNTY 6, BANKS COUNTY 0 (THURSDAY): Angie Hughes threw a perfect game with 12 strikeouts as the Lady Panthers defeated the Lady Leopards to remain unbeaten in Region 8A-AA at 6-0.

Kaitlyn Seabolt went 4-for-4, Whitney Kelley went 2-for-3, Tori Dyer went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Callie Dyer went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead Union County (14-1-1).

Union County plays in the North Fall Classic golf division bracket today at 9:30 a.m. against Hart County and at 12:30 p.m. against Lumpkin County at NGCSU.
