Sheymus Maloney recorded a hat trick for Riverside Military Academy's lacrosse team in Monday’s 18-1 rout of Martin Luther King Jr. High School.

Chris Sweetenburg also notched a hat trick, while Chase Kaufman had two goals for the Eagles (2-0). Jensen Hess led the Eagles with four assists.

GAINESVILLE 1, MADISON COUNTY 0: Starting pitcher Collier Scott struck out seven over six innings for Gainesville in Danielsville. Banks Griffith pitched two innings in relief, allowing zero hits while striking out two for the Red Elephants.

Gainesville’s (3-1) Kyle York had an RBI-single. Charlie Wall and Cameron Wilson both had singles as well for the Red Elephants.

Gainesville plays Madison County at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday in Gainesville.
