The Towns County girls opened their season with a 57-47 win over Dawson County on Friday night in Dawsonville.
Carly Gilreath had 12 points and was the only Dawson County player to score in double figures. Kenna Seitz had eight points and eight rebounds and Natalie Parker had eight points and six rebounds for Dawson County (0-1), which faces Mount Pisgah at 3 p.m. Monday in the Turkey Classic at Hebron Christian in Dacula.
Towns County (1-0) will visit Andrews, N.C. at 6:30 p.m. today.
DAWSON COUNTY BOYS 51, TOWNS COUNTY 21: Jacob Evans scored 17 points to lead the Lions to the win Friday in Dawsonville.
Tyler Dominy added 12 points for Dawsonville (1-0), which plays Mount Pisgah at 4:30 p.m. Monday in the Turkey Classic at Hebron Christian in Dacula.
