High school scoreboard: North Hall earns three area wins

The North Hall High volleyball team swept a home meet against area opponents Gilmer (25-11, 25-19), East Hall (25-10, 25-7) and Gainesville (25-11, 25-12) on Wednesday in Gainesville.

Katherine Filchak led the Lady Trojans (17-13, 7-3 Area 7-AAA) with 15 kills, five aces and four blocks. Kathryn Bell had 15 assists, eight aces and five kills, Kelsey Marlatt had 28 digs, Haley Panter had 21 assists, Evann Rowland had 16 digs, seven aces and six kills, Sarita Madera had 16 digs, 11 aces and three kills and Betsy Burns added seven kills for North Hall.

Gainesville (5-20, 1-7 Area 7-AAA) earned its first area win against East Hall (18-25, 25-23, 25-6) but lost to Gilmer (25-14, 25-17).

Taylor Ricketts led the Lady Red Elephants with 28 kills, 22 digs, 14 assists and five aces. Kiki Thompson had 12 digs, 10 kills, four assists, three aces and one block, Katelyn Whelchel had seven assists, six digs, four kills and one block and Jazmine Jones added eight kills and five blocks for Gainesville.

Gainesville faces Johnson and West Forsyth at 6 p.m. today at Johnson. East Hall faces Rabun County and Tallulah Falls at 5 p.m. today at Tallulah Falls. North Hall faces Brookwood and Collins Hill at 5 p.m. today at Collins Hill.

Habersham Central wins two on the road (Tuesday)

The Lady Raiders defeated Winder-Barrow (25-21, 25-22) and Morgan County (25-23, 25-9) on Tuesday in Madison.

Jaclyn Campbell led Habersham Central (32-6, 8-1 Area 8-AAAA) with 22 kills, two aces, one dig and one block. Julia Heimberger had five kills and two blocks, Megan Rowland had 10 kills, one ace and one dig and Haley White added 26 assists.

Habersham Central wraps up its regular season against Mary Persons and Rockdale County at 6 p.m. today at Rockdale County.
