Blake Gowder and Chaiz George combined to throw a no-hitter on Friday night as Union County beat Hayesville (N.C.) 7-0 at home.

Gowder got the win and the two pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts.

Coleman Sullivan (2-3, four RBIs) and George (1-3, two RBIs) each hit a home run for the Panthers.

Union County (4-1) visits Dawson County at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday.

WEST HALL 11, BANKS COUNTY 1: Chad Goff’s fifth-inning grand slam capped off the victory for the Spartans at home on Friday night.

In the five-inning game, West Hall’s Max Everett had three hits, including a double and Brandon Grindle and Chad Goff each added two hits.

West Hall (1-3) plays host to Jackson County at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Banks County travels to Walnut Grove at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

CHESTATEE 8, RIVERSIDE MILITARY 7: Kevin Cifford’s walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh inning scored two runs and lifted the War Eagles to victory Friday night.

Riverside Military senior Brian Cox was 2-for-3 with a home run.

Chestatee (3-0) visits Dawson County at 1 p.m. today. Riverside Military travels to Lakeview Academy at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

BUFORD 10, EAST HALL 0: Jeb Dills pitched five innings and gave up only one hit to go with nine strikeouts and no walks to lift the Wolves to victory Friday in Buford.

Desman Gardner had the lone hit for East Hall.

Buford plays host to West Forsyth at 2 p.m. today. East Hall visits Central Gwinnett at 6 p.m. on Friday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 6, FLOWERY BRANCH 5: Freshman Austin Mongomery got his first career save in his first high-school appearance as the Lions won a close game with the Falcons in Gainesville.

Ralston Cash and Dalton Monday each went 2-for-4, while Nick Drury added two RBIs for Lakeview Academy (2-2).

Lakeview Academy plays host to North Hall at noon today, while East Hall travels to Central Gwinnett at 6 p.m. Friday.

WHITE COUNTY 2, HART COUNTY 1: Luke Crumley struck out 12 and gave up only two hits as the Warriors overcame a one-run deficit going into the bottom of the sixth inning to win Friday in Cleveland.

White County scored two in the sixth to take the lead.

White County (4-0) visits Habersham Central in a makeup game at 5:30 p.m. today.

JEFFERSON 11, MADISON COUNTY 6 (THURSDAY): Corey Wilkens went 2-for-3 with five RBIs to lead the Dragons over the Red Raiders on Thursday in Jefferson.

Jamie Sexton pitched five innings with four strikeouts to earn the win.

Jefferson plays host to Commerce at 1 p.m. today.

JOHNSON GIRLS 5, GAINESVILLE 0: Cady Nix, Kamy Field and Harlee Robson each had straight-set singles victories on Friday in Gainesville.

The doubles teams of Claire Crain/Maggie Turner and Lauren Houston/Carlyn Ivey each won 6-0, 6-0 for Johnson.
Johnson (4-2) plays host to Chestatee at 4 p.m. Monday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 4, HEBRON CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 1: Seth Black and Jackson Beck each had a singles wins for the Lions on Friday in Gainesville.

The teams of Matt Morris/Alex Klecan and Grant Hocker/Will Kellemeyer won their doubles matches in straight sets for Lakeview.

Lakeview plays host to Jefferson at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Falcons didn’t drop a set on Friday as they visited East Hall.
Chris Dilidili, Destin Tipton, and Luke Smith had singles victories while the teams of Burch/Jacobs and Cobbs/Hedden won doubles.

The Flowery Branch boys (1-5, 1-4 Region 7B-AAA) play host to Johnson at 4 p.m. Monday.

East Hall plays host to Lambert at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Only losing two games combined Friday, the Lady Falcons swept the Lady Vikings in Flowery Branch.

Anna Kate Shaw, Elizabeth Mallory and Morgan Reed won in singles, while the teams of Nicki Price/Dani Taylor and Lindsey Shaw/Bekki Benton won in doubles.

Flowery Branch (5-2, 3-2 Region 7B-AAA) visits Johnson at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 10, CHESTATEE 1: Alex Lee had four goals and two assists to lead the Lady Falcons in their first region game of the season.

Cassidy Elrod and Lindsey Porter both had two goals, while Elrod added an assist. Morgan Glenn and Ally Wellborn each scored a goal for Flowery Branch (2-2, 1-0 Region 7B-AAA).

: With three goals and one assist, Savannah Castles led the Lady Warriors to a win Friday in the Crown Mountain Cup at Lumpkin County.

Haley Rumford added two goals for White County (3-2, 0-1 Region 7A-AAA).

White County visits North Forsyth at 3 p.m. today.

WHITE COUNTY BOYS 2, BANKS COUNTY 1: An early goal and a late goal was the difference Friday, as the Warriors won in the Crown Mountain Cup at Lumpkin County.

Daniel Lashoto scored in the second minute of the game off an assist from Mark Bardenwerper, who scored the go-ahead goal late in the second half.

Seth Lee had six saves in goal for White County (2-3, 0-1 Region 7A-AAA).

The Warriors travel to North Forsyth at 5 p.m. today.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN GIRLS 1, HORIZON CHRISTIAN 0: With a strong defense anchored by Brittany White and Emily Owens, the Lady Chargers won a close game at Allen Creek on Friday.

The game’s only goal came early in the second half from Ashley Valentine.

North Georgia (2-0) travels to Rabun Gap for their first away game at 5 p.m. Monday.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 8, SOUTH GWINNETT 1: Five players combined for eight goals in the Red Elephants’ win Friday at City Park.

Irving Salgado had two goals and three assists, Gabriel Osorio and Merley Velasquez each had two goals, and Carlos Sanchez and Unis Yanes each scored once for Gainesville.

Monish Lahery had three assistsand Douglass Mejia had one for the Red Elephants (3-0), who visit Lambert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 2, SOUTH GWINNETT 0: Raquel Castillo led the Lady Red Elephants with one goal and one assist Friday at City Park.

Cathrine Chambers scored for Gainesville in the first half and Hong Tran had four saves in goal.

Gainesville (3-0, 1-0 Region 7B-AAA) visits Lambert on Tuesday at 5:30.

MARTIN WINS 400 METER FOR RIVERSIDE MILITARY AGAINST GRAYSON (THURSDAY): With a time of 55 seconds, Justin Martin won the 400-meter dash against the Class AAAAA Rams.

Hyung Seok Oh placed second in the 300-meter hurdles and third in the 110-meter hurdles, while Zach Anderson took second place in the 110-meter hurdles and Bharat Harshwardin finished second in the 3200-meter run for Riverside.

Personal records were set by Marlin Veazie in the 100-meter dash (10.8 seconds) and Cypress Billie, who ran the 1600-meter in 5:17.

Riverside travels to Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
